A public classroom for thinking about people.

APSORE is a free learning service funded from public money. It teaches the ideas from social psychology and philosophy that help people understand themselves, each other, and the societies they share.

Every course is built around interactive video. Instead of watching and forgetting, you are asked to predict, decide and argue at the moments that matter, then you see what the research found and how other learners answered.

What we hold to

Think before you're told

Every lesson asks for your judgement before it gives the answer. Committing to a guess is what makes the answer stick.

Free means frictionless

No fees, no premium tier, no adverts, no upsell screens. The shortest route to a lesson always wins.

Plain language first

A curious fifteen-year-old and a senior civil servant should both be able to follow every screen.

Your progress is sacred

Your place in each video, your notes and your reflections are saved as you go, on any device.

Who pays for it

Funded by the public, free for everyone. The service is run as a public programme, so there is nothing to buy and no advertising.

We collect only what we need to save your progress. Read the privacy summary and our accessibility statement.

Questions people ask

Is it really free?

Yes. APSORE is paid for from public funds. There are no fees, no premium tier and no adverts.

Who can sign up?

Anyone aged 13 or over. If you are under 18, check with a parent, guardian or teacher first.

Do I need to finish a course in one go?

No. Your place in every video is saved, on any device. Come back whenever you like.

Why does the video keep stopping?

That is the point. Each pause asks you to predict, decide or explain before you see the answer. It is how the courses help you remember.

Can other people see my answers?

Your reflections and notes are private. Answers to polls only appear to others as anonymous totals, and only once enough people have answered.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. When you finish every lesson in a course you get a certificate with a code anyone can check on our verify page.
